In the Depths

It lurked in the depths, waiting, biding its time. It knew they would come. The foolishly brave have always showed up at its doorstep.

Have they not realized that something must have happened to those before them? Were they trying to find out their fates? Or have they not a single care in the world about the doom that lurks just beneath the surface?

One thing is certain though, sooner or later, they will come, and then they will join their predecessors as bone shards on the seafloor.
