A yearly Event

Every year around this time I visit this site.

The peak of the mountain where my wife and daughter rest in crystal.

I can't even say of many years it has been now, a thousand? Ten thousand?

How many times have I actually come to this place just to feel my heart break all over again.

How many times have I now watched the face of my daughter who I never even got to name..

How much longer will I have to keep trying to fix the world.. How many more will I have to kill.. How much more violence will I have to cause to finally get the peaceful world I would have wanted my daughter to see? Why can't everyone just move together towards a common goal?

Everytime we manage to get most of the kings, queens and general elders onboard life blossoms, then the rot takes hold in their hearts, life stagnates which accelerates the spread of jealousy and greed.

I've stopped being surprised over how far humans will beat their neighbor, not even to accomplish anything more than make themselves feel superior.

I'm sick of this.

I'm tired.

I've been at this for far too long.

Nothing ever seems to really change as long as I leave it up to others.

No more.

I refuse to wait anymore.

They've had their chance, maybe they just live too short for them to truly understand the big picture.

Maybe they need someone older to hold their hand.

Someone to make the sweet and the bitter all more real for them, for generation after generation.

I've had it and I've made up my mind.

I'll have to bring them all into the fold, break the rebellious while comforting the adaptable.

"I'll be very busy from now on but just watch, I'll finally bring about true peace" I whispered while I started walking away from the crystal rock that now serves as my wife and daugther's resting place.

My guards stood waiting just a few minutes of walking from the top and they bowed their heads as I got closer.

"Send the word that I require everyone to gather by tomorrow, prepare a feast and make sure to send maps to my room once we're back at the castle" I said as I walked toward my horse and sat up.

"Oh.. And you might want to prepare yourselves as well. We are going to get 'very' busy as of tomorrow".

I spurred my horse on while a little smile found its way to my lips.

'Finally we will be able to bring calm to the world'.
